Great text book on the Spirit throughout Scripture
I bought this book because one of the editors (Keith Warrington) is a Pentecostal scholar. I was not aware the book was a Reader or compendium - chapters by different authors. I recognised many of the contributors. Several are not Pentecostals. However, this seems to add to the richness of the book. The book literally takes the reader through the whole Bible to show what the books teach about the Holy Spirit. The chapters dealing with the Old Testament books are really helpful as we often forget the Spirit's activity in the Old Testament. Any could understand this book, from new believer to scholar.
My purchase was pre-owned but in excellent condition and the price so much cheaper than a new copy.

Bonhoeffer on Discipleship
Akthough it is 75 years since Bonhoeffer's execution/martyrdom, recent years have seen a growing interest in his writings. This book deals with Bonhoeffer's view of Christian discipleship, particularly his view of "cheap grace." I think Christians of every denomination/theological view, should read this book. So many branches of Christianity have made "believing" and "following" an easy thing without any personal cost. It is true that salvation is by grace alone and we contribute nothing, but taking up Jesus's yoke does involve personal cost.

Like and old friend
I had owned a copy of this book some years ago, my wife having worked for the publisher. This book is not as detailed as some History of Christianity books but more than adequately covers the topics. I wanted it for research for a course I am teaching and have found it meets my needs perfectly.
