favorite Nick album
1 of 1 found this helpful Some of the most honest and beautiful music I've ever heard. Although this album listens like a suicide note, it's the best way he could have said goodbye. The guitar riffs are elegantly simple, and he ads no backing instruments other than the one piano solo on the first track. Nick's lyrics are both prophetic and childlike, creating the perfect soundtrack to a rainy Sunday or a midnight car ride. I would highly recommend this to anybody looking for a unique take on seventies folk. This album entrances the listener and forces them to see the world through the eyes of depression, the same eyes that haunt the face of the clown on the cover. Very thought provoking and intense, but a great listen.
