Flexibility, convenience, elegance -- well worth the cost
Although they are pricey, I have sprung for three of these. Each works without affecting the others but I do not know if this is always the case.. I love being able to adjust the light from a location convenient for me-- whether to set the mood or have bright or no light. You do need to be sure the bulb is dimmable. Flexibility, convenience, elegance.
What more could you want?

Guessing as to quality but imagine they are all pretty much the same and this was an excellent price. .
