Worked like a dream
2 of 2 found this helpful Follow the instructions and it works. I had one headlamp lens cover on my Mercedes ML 270 all cloudy and the other one was starting at the top down. I HIGHLY recommend you tape around the headlamp like it says before starting. I'm glad I did. I would have screwed up the paint a dozen times had I not double taped.
I started with my cordless drill, but the battery ran down on the second lens so I had to get the corded drill. Don't hurry the process and get a chair unless you want to be bent over or be on your knees for a while I have a creeper that pulls up into a seat so I could wheel around while working. Made working much easier.
I suggest 4 CLEAN towels. 1 to wash the lens, 1 to dry, 1 to wipe the dust away and 1 at the wet sanding stage.
Don't panic at the beginning it will looks like your ruining the lens. Keep your sanding even as you progress with the finer sanding pads and the lens will start to clear up. Don't use a wet towel to wipe the dust from the lens as it will not show your missed spots during sanding. Make sure the lens is dry at the polishing stage.
The car will get dirty. I kept the hood open on the car so some small splatter during the wet sanding phase speckled all over the motor. Nothing major. I used the wet towel to clean that at the end.
Have everything you need before you start. Make sure you have a spay bottle for the wet sanding stage.
Used headlamp covers are about 300 to 500 dollars and from the dealer even more. For less than 20 bucks my problems gone.. Looks almost like a brand new lens cover on 10 year old car.
