Solid versatile, good-value clean laundry scent
1 of 1 found this helpful Halston 1-12 cologne spray is a good all-around cologne. Its ideal purpose would be if you wanted a versatile, all-around scent that has decent potency and performance and smells like clean laundry (on my skin, it smells like dryer sheets, but a little less so if I use three or four sprays on the upper chest). It's a soapy light floral (floral in a clean way, not a sweet, feminine way) combined with some fairly masculine notes. I wouldn't call it "macho," but I'd say it's more masculine than unisex. It's hard to tell what notes are in it. It smells more like a blend that sums up to its own smell, which is more comparable to dryer sheets than anything else I could think to compare it to.

High-performing, superior alternative to Preferred Stock (a dark soapy masculine fragrance)
Giorgio Red for Men performs much better than most fragrances. It doesn't require many sprays to the chest to get excellent performance and longevity. It has a dark and soapy scent which smells and performs like an upgraded version of Preferred Stock.

A great deal. Recommended for iPod, etc. Open, spacious, comfortable sound.
My rating of the Audio-Technica ATH-P3 is based on what I would expect for the price. My big, closed Sony MDR-XD200 phones (which usually sell for over $30) put out better sound than these when used with my stereo receiver. However, with my mp3 player, I actually prefer the ~$15 Audio Technica ATH-P3 even with regard to only the sound. When size and chord-length are taken into consideration, the ATH-P3 is especially preferable.
I bought the Audio Technica ATH-P3 because I wanted a light pair of headphones, with a fairly short cord and that don't look too bulky, to use with my mp3 player (playing mostly classical music--particularly orchestral music--as I'm a violinist) when taking walks. The Audio-Technica ATH-P3 headphones work great for this. They are very comfortable both physically and sound-wise. They are a huge improvement over the headphones of other brands you can get for $5-10 from Wal-Mart. And although I haven't had a chance to see how long they will last before breaking or cutting out (which is typically less than half a year with other portable headphones I've tried), they don't seem cheap. For example, the chords are thicker. As for the sound, it is in keeping with the design: "open." The airy highs are bright but not piercing, the middle frequencies are warm and pleasant to the ear, and the low frequencies are natural. If you want something that booms a lot, these wouldn't be for you. However, who wants a biased pair of headphones? If you want a lot of bass, just use some EQ. For me, the bass is sufficient and high-quality. What impresses me most about these headphones, for their price, is their "sound stage." You can actually imagine you are in a real acoustical space with these compared to the lower-end portable phones of Koss and Maxell I've bought from Wal-Mart for about $5. Sound stage is MUCH better with these and there is MUCH less artificiality in the general quality of sound. Their quality is a lot closer to the Sony MDR-XD200. (In some respects, in fact, I'd say it's better.)
The main disadvantage of the ATH-P3 is that other people can sort of hear what you're listening to if they're close by. I don't really care about that, but you might want to consider that before buying them if you would care...although when someone else was using them at an everyday, safe volume and I was sitting right next to them, I could hear the music only very faintly. I would have hardly been able to tell what was playing.
