1500W SUB Audio 8 Gauge Car Amplifier Amp Installation Wiring Complete Kit MG

Works, but not as advertised
I used this wiring kit to install a Blaupunkt 300 watt under-seat subwoofer in my car. The item is advertised as having 8 gauge wire. It is actually either 12 or 14 AWG wire! I was disappointed, but for the price, I should have known better. Nobody is going to get 16 feet of 8 gauge copper wire at the price they are selling it for. Anyway, I used the kit, not knowing if it would handle the power going to my amp. I only used about 6 feet of the power cable, attaching it directly to the hot side of the starter, going about a foot into the fuse holder mounted to the firewall, then through the firewall, under the carpet and into the amp under the front seat. The shorter length of wire I used helped to make up for the smaller size, i.e. lower voltage drop. If I had to run this crap all the way to the trunk of a car, then there would most likely be trouble when running larger amps. It's working for now; only time will tell if the amp has power-related issues in the future. I was generous for giving this kit a 3-star review, that was because the fuse holder and the RCA cables seem to be adequate. Even the signal wire is small, like 24 gauge, but it worked in the 5-foot run I used it for. For short runs to amps of 300 watts or less, this kit is okay. But for bigger amps mounted in the trunk, don't skimp on the power wires; pay more and get the big stuff.

Warm and comfortable
I consider these a unisex design. They are much more comfortable than "long johns" and they keep my legs warm and also provide a little support. I haven't figured out which is the front and which is the back yet. One side has two seams and the other side has one seam. This is on the XL size. I guess just try them one way then the other and see which way is more comfortable.

Sounds great until the subwoofer cap flies off!
I purchased one of these for use in my 1994 Geo Metro and it fit perfectly under the passenger seat. One day this past summer I was jamming out to some AC/DC when suddenly a horrible loud noise starting coming from the subwoofer. I turned off my stereo until I got home. Upon examination, I found that the chrome center cap had come off of the subwoofer driver. It feels like it has a weight in it. Apparently the glue wasn't strong enough to hold onto the cap at rock 'n roll frequencies. I might be able to glue the cap back on, once I find a good enough glue for it. This was my first and last experience with Blaupunkt. Should have lasted more than 3-4 months.
