Portable A/C
1 of 1 found this helpful States that it can handle a 400sq... I do not think so... maybe more like 300. I use this in my garage when working in the summer and it won't get the garage cooler then 15 degrees from what is outside. Eg: 100 outside 85 inside. TO be fair though, the garage does not have insulation. IT did work good in the back of the house and kept two bedrooms cool across the hall from one another with a bathroom in between the two, The House is insulated, and the unit did go off and on as you would expect for a unit to reach desired temp, kick off and of course kick on when temp rises. I have it for back up, which like a gun, hope to never need it, but better to have and not need than to need to and not have. Peace.

Be advised
I installed this on my front porch. Be advised it does NOT come with a metal housing as you would receive when ordering an indoor blind. This one needs to be mounted on a flat surface either ceiling or wall. You cannot hang via eye hooks and chains, if you wanted to hang in that fashion.
The weight of the shade fabric is heavy as you would find in any Nursery/Hardware store shade cloth. Came with a template so with a level and some tape it made it a breeze for install. I bought some Bungees with the ball on the end to help keep it from flapping in the breeze.
*Tip~ When installing on a wall note how the cord hangs from unit. You want the up and down control cord to be pointing straight down to the ground, or it catches on the housing. Elementary now that I've installed it and you've read this.
