Concept is good but unable to make it work attached to vehicleReceived
2 of 2 found this helpful Received the unit and was anxious to install but my plate retainer needed to be replaced. Test of unit standalone following charge of camera ok. Only about a foot apart. Proceeded to mount on plate when retainer replaced. Figured it would work like video shows. Attached to vehicle and and plugged monitor into 12 volt. Menu items ok. No picture from rear of vehicle. Removed the plate and placed in vehicle. NO image. Recharged camera using usb. Tested unit attached to plate inside vehicle. Picture from camera. Received from camera. Tried on rear of vehicle. No image received. Placed plate on back window shelf and received image. when inside vehicle. But image inconsistent. Sometimes available other times nothing. Manual says charge lasts several months without solar feed. Frustrated now as no image from camera. Get the solid blue indicating connection. Suggest you try unit charged from outside vehicle before connection to backing plate with your plate. Was looking forward to it working. Unfortunately cannot give positive review as unit did not work from rear. Frustrating to watch video and see panel trucks and pickups work with not problem.
