Campy, colorful fun movie.
This is a very "campy" and fun movie, based on a popular old comic strip, with over-the-top acting and great costumes and scenery. Overall, a lot of enjoyable entertainment for the money.

Grannie Still Remembers How!
This is a pretty good guide for younger women who, for whatever reason, did not get their mothers' advice on cosmetics. It's well organized, and fairly well written, with good illustrations. While I did disagree with some of their advice, for the most part, it's sound. (I still maintain, however, that the man doesn't exist who is worth pouring hot wax on your tender bits, and ripping the hair out by its roots! You're much better advised to visit the dermatologist and get laser treatments, if you must tidy up any areas.)

First of Many Jewels from Victoria Holt
I first read this as a teen. I recently re-read it, and it's still a very classic, and enjoyable romantic period mystery. Victoria Holt wrote many more, but I don't believe any were more well done than this gem.
