Great detector for my use!
Great price with great features. Connected to Smartthings V2 immediately. No additional software required.

Super loud, clear and compact
1 of 1 found this helpful Not even close to 600 watts but boy oh boy is it loud! In real life I would say it's 10 watts RMS per Channel. Furthermore the speakers are full range but they're focused in the vocal range. What this means is you have minimal bass and minimal treble, however it's perfect for highway riding on a windy motorcycle with a helmet on! I've seen speaker systems at the motorcycle store that cost $300 that didn't sound much different than these. I'm just blown away that anybody bothers putting wattage on these systems anymore. I highly recommend these for the price. The housings are 4" and heavy with a quality feel. The amp is surprising small and should fit under the seat comfortably for most. Most importantly the maximum power draw is only 5 amps which is perfect for most bikes which don't have enough alternator to support auxiliary lighting heated grips and jacket and a stereo. Keep in mind I'm an audio file and I have a very high-end system for the house but on my bike I can live with the limited sound. If you're expecting a subwoofer and tweeters and mid-range combination these are not for you. Then again most motorcycle speakers under $250 aren't going to be either IMO.
A nice unexpected feature was the ability to plug my GPS into the amp at the same time as my phone. One through Bluetooth and one through a headphone jack.
If I had one big complaint it would be that the handlebar mounts aren't very flexible for people with smaller handlebars such as 7/8 in. Or even typical 1" bars. Requiring that I put some material underneath the mounting bracket.
As for longevity summer hasn't started up here in Canada. 😊

Even if you don't have home automation - this is a great tool and toy!
6 of 6 found this helpful I strictly wanted this device for home automation. In Canada Amazon isn't selling it yet - but I knew I could use many of the features anyways. Once I received my "new" "unopened" Amazon Echo (which was opened, used and configured for somewhere in the states) It was easy to reset and get down to business.
Alexa takes all of my systems (which are interconnected with a popular home automation hub) and makes them available by voice command. The reliability of the 7 microphones is astonishing (compared to other voice systems I have used over the years). Alexa makes mistakes - but you can just say her name in the middle of a command and she will halt what she is doing to listen to your new command. The only time I have had issues is during a party when over a dozen other people were talking at the same time.
Alexa (can now be renamed to Echo, Computer or Alexa). This becomes very natural in short order. She has become part of the family and provides no end of entertainment for my 2yr old and 6yr old. She answers many trivia questions, calculator functions, weather, sports, news, music and much more.
I hope this type of product stays popular for years to come - as I don't know how I could live without her at this point.
For security reasons Alexa will NOT interface with your door locks. I wish the option to lock (but not unlock) could be added. This would be my only complaint so far.
Combined with my Harmony Smart hub, Smartthings Hub and many z-wave lights and switches, having a voice remote just makes sense. Even the Ecobee3 pays attention to Alexa.
Alexa is also a bluetooth gateway. I have a second Echo in the bedroom - hooked up to a Bose speaker system. Not only can she play through the speakers using Echo bluetooth - but you can easily have her play a gentle thunderstorm or Ocean waves in the background.
You can even ask Alexa to sing you a song - and appreciates good manners. With the right skill sets - the kids enjoy that she can fart and belch too!
I could go on - but you should just get one and enjoy the fun.
PS... I have a VERY stable and VERY quick internet connection. Alexa requires this to work smoothly. She will work with slower and less stable networks, but it won't be quite as much fun (if your demanding of your electronics like I am).
