This tool cuts branches up around 1 1/2 inches in diameter but a person must hold the tool in the same position and press the trigger multiple times for the mechanism to continue its cutting motion and carry out the full cut you are working on. It takes patience to complete the cut but it's worth it saving your arms from prying a set of loppers back and forth and using this tool instead and saving the wear and tear along with cutting your skin open on other parts of the tree you're pruning.
