Precision doesn't have to cost a lot
I use a set of calipers on my job for an auto producer as well as in my shop with woodworking projects. I have yet to understand how the wide varience in pricing for calipers is justified by those willing to put forth high end money. And the truth is likely, that only company budgets purchase high end. My experience has been that if you drop or abuse (don't take care with) high end calipers, they break or lose their ability to retain calibrations just like low end calipers. I do agree that some low end calipers are not accurate. However, the Neiko brand caliper I purchased here is a quality instrument that, with care, can provide sustainable accurate calibration and years of accurate use.
