Replacement chassis fan for HP workstation
This fan is used in pro-grade HP desktop workstation. It's a chassis fan that plugs into the mainboard via a four wire interface. The BIOS checks for adequate RPMs during boot, and will halt the boot process awaiting input on the keyboard if the tachometer indicates insufficient rotation.
This fan needed to be replaced (with an exact replacement being the least effort) so that the workstation could get through automated restarts such as those provoked by installation of updates.
This fan is indeed an exact replacement and works as designed. It's not particularly quiet, but neither was the unit it replaced.

Delta 66 with Omni I/O
I bought this interface used on Ebay to save a little money over new gear. Pro audio interfaces are what I've used more recently, and I needed one for a new machine I was building (actually I was re-purposing a Dell PowerEdge 2900 server box as workstation).
The unit came a few days after I won the auction, and I was able to immediately see that I'd miscalculated a bit. The interface PCI card would not go into any peripheral slot in the server. The problem was, the server has PCI-E, and PCI-X slots, but no regular simple PCI slots. This is where I got lucky to have chosen a Delta 66 product.
M-Audio has a trade-in program so that if you have one of the original PCI interface cards, but need a replacement card that will go into a PCI-X slot, they will help you out. Depending upon the amount of time that you've had the old card, they might or might not charge a $50 upgrade fee, but the main thing is that you can get a replacement card that solves the problem.
I think this program (and the revised card) was primarily engineered for the benefit of Mac users, but I was a Windows user that was able to benefit from the program. After a delay to do the card swap, I was up and running with no problems.
The item I purchased has the Omni breakout box which is more elaborate than the more common version with just 6 simple ins/outs. The Omni version has microphone pre-amplifiers, dual headphone output jacks, and can provide 48v phantom power to microphones.
One reason that caused me choose this card was the availability of driver support for Windows 7, 64-bit version. Another reason was prior good experiences I'd had with other M-Audio products.

Converting the HTC Vive headset to wireless improves the VR immersion significantly.
This device lets a user of an HTC Vive headset trade the cable that goes back to the host computer (and always gets wound up when you get active in VR) for a cable that goes to a battery pack (that you keep on your body, typically hanging from a belt or in a pocket).
The battery cable does not get wound up, and you can ditch all the ceiling suspension rigs you may have created to try and manage the headset cable. If the battery gets loose and falls to the floor, it might unplug itself from the power cable on the way down. It will probably survive the fall, but your VR session may not.
You may end up recovering from a battery disconnect (or a battery run down condition) by establishing a connection with a charged battery, and then starting up VR and your game again. Battery life with the provided batteries is about 2 hours each, plus or minus a few minutes.
