AMAZING Sensor!
First; the distance is adjustable by the tiny screw at the top by the wire (screw CLOCKWISE for greater distance). I tell you this so you won't be frustrated, as I was when first connecting to my DIY FolgerTech FT-5 (a very challenging 1st build, RAMPS MKS V1.4 5Vswitch out(yes I said 5v). Anyway, I needlessly shaved the plastic off the cap of the sensor, hoping to gain more distance - DO NOT DO THIS! The sensor will cease to function completely, only my artistic means could save the day - I used APOXIE SCULPT to recover/cap the tip. LIKE I SAID, just use the tiny screw to adjust the distance and avoid my mistake. And YES! It can and will sense through glass, as long as the build surface underneath is ALUMINUM (Preferably SOLID). But I was able to sense foil and a bank card :D

SPILL IT - Literally!
I would recommend AND love this cup, IF it could pour a reasonable stream, instead of a GUSHING pour. Yes, please PYREX re-tool the spout. I can't recommend the cup, ONLY because without a funnel it is useless if you want to pour your measured ingredient into anything other than mixing bowls without it spilling all over. I admit it would be adequate for most bakers/cooks - but I wanted this cup because of it's small 1/4 measure, for filling containers - so my review may be unfair for most potential buyers. So PYREX please produce a "special" CONTAINER CUP with a spout design for pouring fine controlled steams. As of now I am resigned to using a DOLLAR STORE plastic cup that can pour a fine stream/no spills.

After having thin sheet glass crack and warp repeatedly (1/8-3mm or slightly more). And then tried POLYCARBONATE SHEET a hot mess that ruined the finish on my 600mm aluminum heated bed. Finally! Had enough and figured ti was time to go with a quality brand heavy sheet - from a quality MFG. The actual weight of my 1/4" 24"x24" GLASS SHEET is 11.85 .lbs, And does not warp at high 100 temp. I have made a 1 to 3 gear ratio on my Z-Axis (20teeth on the motor 60teeth on the rod) To ensure it could handle a heavy load. (Sorry no pics of glass on bed yet, will post if I can soon :)
