Problem resolved
When I plugged it in blue sparks came out around the plug. I tried another outlet and got a repeat of blue sparks.

Looks good, feels good
I've had several compliments on this shoe, but most important it is very comfortable. I speed walk and do group fitness and this shoe is better than some other Asics (my favorite brand) I've had.
