power to spare !
2 of 2 found this helpful I have many many Makita batterie powered tools, screw gun, drill, sawmill, grinder, jigsaw, circular saw, sander, and by far I am most impressed with the Makita Weed cutter and the Makita 12" Chainsaw. Those tools are fabulous, and the higher capacity 4.0 Ah batteries give you all the power and long working times you could want. Do be sure that your tools are suited for the larger capacity batteries, a lot of older Makita tools ( those without a Star or Yellow power connector block ) can only take the 3.0Ah

YES it can !!
1 of 1 found this helpful for small wood lot or home-owner fire wood cutting or arborist and fruit tree pruning, this is the greatest little chainsaw. Respectable power, no mixing gas, no exhaust and no noise. Instant start and stop. Light weight and easy to handle. Like all Makita tools it is extremely well build and designed. I do recommend to invest in 4.0Ah or 5.0Ah batteries, as cutting wood does use a lot of juice. Chain tensioning system is by far the smartest and easiest of ANY chainsaw I have ever used,no tools needed.

Buy brand name
I got burned trying to go cheap and bought some " no brand " Chinese knock-offs for half the price, which lasted all of three months, before my charhers refused to recharge them. From now on I'll stick with Makita branded, since they last for years.
