For the large-headed DIY-er
2 of 2 found this helpful The helmet itself is made of very nice, thick plastic, but the way the two halves are assembled is awful. However, the velcro is easily removed and superglue, epoxy, or strong tape works wonderfully as the two halves are actually made to just line up almost perfectly. The paint may require a little TLC to really make it look nice. Also another layer of mesh or a visor in the eyes is needed to hide the wearer's eyes. Finally it is enormous. I have a 26' head, a size 8 in hats, and i'm swimming in it. However, this allows for better ventilation and amble room for padding or even an after market voice changer! For the price I paid I have no regrets whatsoever. It was pretty good, but even with my meager skillset i was able to make it great!

Nifty little gadget!
1 of 1 found this helpful The laser itself is pretty ergonomically designed and not too rough on the battery. The focus on the beam takes a little getting used to, but once you've got it it's a cinch. Now as far as actually igniting something, say a piece of paper or a candle wick, I haven't had much success yet, though i'm still tinkering. It will leave small, searing holes in paper and will definitely strike a match in seconds! and when the beam is unfocused it makes a great high-power UV bulb! For something like this and the price I paid, I'm pleased!

Definitely not for smaller people
I'll preface this by saying my head is 26 in around, and this thing is gargantuan on me. Luckily, it is adjustable. The velcro/locking socket method of attaching the top is a bit wonky, but since it's so large you can likely just glue it in place and pop your head in the back of the neck. Also the lenses are made of... weird plastic that warps your vision. Great for a DIY-er or a mascot, but for the average consumer you may just consider the cheapo version
