Wow, unbeleiveable how good for the price
I really was expecting next to nothing in terms of sound quality. I had been researching condenser microphone pickups for quite some time. I own a Fishman Ellipse Blend and a Fishman Rare Earth Blend pickup system installed in 2 different guitars. They are both $2-300 pickups. They sound fantastic. This pickup cost me like 10 bucks... it sounds just as good in my opinion! I was expecting lots of feedback and I guess just an all around poor quality sound. Not so. It will feedback, but if you set the controls on your amp and on the pickup correctly it is not a problem. I am only using the condenser microphone, so I cannot speak for what the Piezo pickup sounds like. I have this pickup installed in my Agile 8 string guitar. When I say installed, it is a breeze to do. I did drill a hole for the input jack, and that was a little scary, but I had a friend help me hold it in place and we used a brand new drill bit, so it went smoothly. Pro tip: put painters tape all around where you intend to drill the hole in case your drill pulls itself through when it breaks through the other side to prevent scratching or denting the finish on the guitar from the drill smashing into it. I use this microphone in combination with the piezo pickup that came with the guitar. It does exactly what I wanted it to, it picks up pretty much everything. It is really sensitive, but its not too sensitive. Like you can hear it if you're wearing long sleeves and it brushes up on the guitar, but you wouldn't hear that if you were playing it. I wanted sensitivity like that because I play percussive finger style like Jon Gomm or Michael Hedges. The "drum" sounds I can get sound great. I would definitely recommend this to anyone trying to play drums on their guitar. I would definitely buy this again. If it ever breaks, I will buy it again. Great product!
I got these because Antoine Dufour uses them. Was not disappointed! Best strings I have ever used for an acoustic!
