Perfect holes cut in flagstone wood stove hearth pad

My wood stove draws cold air from beneath the house. I replaced the hearth pad and needed to cut a 4” diameter hole through flagstone. This hole cutter worked fast with minimal mess. I cut from the back through the homosote backer with a bimetal hole saw and used that hole as a guide for the diamond hole saw as it does not have a pilot drill.

An Authentic Account of Alaskan Life

Writing good fiction or non-fiction is definitely a challenging task, but Nancy makes it seem effortless. Because writing about something you know is paramount to story telling, her first person accounts of life in both SE Alaska and the Interior are accurate and compelling. I lived in Fairbanks as a grad student in the early 70s pre-pipeline, and can vouch for the “Last Frontier” accounts and descriptions. Who could ever forget the taste of “Eskimo Ice Cream” or the “aroma” of muktuk? Thanks for a great read.

Shapes wood fast

This truly is a wood-eating marvel. The extra coarse disc makes short work of shaping any species of wood. I used it to profile some 10” diameter post ends for a driveway gate and it took way less time and the result was just what I wanted.
