A Quick Trip Down Memory Lane
Songs bring back memeories. I've been on a recent kick of buying CDs of artists from the 60s' and 70'. Gene Pitney, Bobby Vinton, The Vogues, The Hollies and now Bobby Goldsboro.
This twin CD set has 21 of his songs ("Honey" is on both discs). His unique sound quality steadily vibrates throughout his various song types from "Little Things" to "Watching Scotty Grow" to "I'm A Drifter".
Listening to these classic songs caused me to remember he once had a brief stint on a weekly TV show. I don't recall the title, but I do remember that little cricket sound he could make. I remember trying oh so hard to duplicate that sound. I never came close.
Maybe I'll try again after listening to these songs one or two more times.

Hmmm. What Can I Say?
This is a remake of a 1960s movie I watched when I was in high school. to be brief: The explanation of what happened to cause the problem is much better in the new movie. But in the old movie it is better because there is always a "huh" factor. the acting is very good in either movie. The 60s version deals mostly with the problem of the apes. the new one seems to try to invoke some emotional attachment to the apes to make one feel sorry for them.
Once again, to be brief, I prefer the older version to the newer one.

Get them to fill in the blanks.
I have watched two of the DVDs so far. I find them to be objective in the presentation. What is most important for me is that they fill in some of the blank spots of the history of Biblical times that the Bible has. For instance: The history of Herod the Greats empire and why his influence was so strong.
This DVD can be found used for ten dollars or so. I think you will find them worth it.
