About

I like a good deal. I am always looking for the 'diamond in the rough'. I am a musician, collector, repairman (can't quite say luthier, but I know these guitars inside and out). I pack well and ship quickly. You will love your new guitar!

The Tonic experience still alive and well. Had to have it!
Let me start by saying that my wife and I have been fans of Tonic since the beginning (mid-90's) and though we have vastly differing musical tastes, Tonic's music has always been common ground for us. In my opinion, Tonic is a hugely under-rated band who never quite received the credit they deserved. I decided to purchase Tonic's self-titled disc after hearing a couple of the songs on a DirecTv concert (and because of course we are fans). I was very eager to hear this disc because it had been a while since the last CD. This one is a bit different than previous albums primarily due to overall mood. While it's a bit lighter, they still project the Tonic trademark sound with the nice blend of acoustic and electric guitars and amazing vocal harmonies. The songs are well-written yet lack a little of the fire we've been acustomed to in the past. There are songs that you immediately fall in love with (Release Me and Precious Little Bird) and there are some that are still growing on me, however I am confident that it will happen. Although this is not my favorite album by Tonic, it is a key part of their musical catalog that I would not miss. I have enjoyed being a part of the ride thus far and I hope they keep it coming!!

United States featuring Paul Gilbert and Freddie Nelson
Paul Gilbert has been one of my favorite guitarists for many years from his start with Racer-X and Mr. Big throughout his solo career. He is truly a gifted musician yet at the same time very down to earth and humble. This particular album is a collection of songs written by Paul and hometown singer Freddie Nelson. He and Paul evidently grew up in the same town but have yet to collaborate on any musical project until now. After listening to some of the tracks on other websites, I decided to buy the CD. The album features 10 songs which I would have to classify as hard rock with Freddie Mercury-like vocals and other vocal arrangements indicative of the band Queen. Paul sings and lays down some amazing guitar solos (especially on Hideaway) and Freddie too displays some guitar chops. The songs are all well-written (and well-produced) and the guys obviously had fun with the project as it really comes through in the music. Highlights: Waste of Time, Pulsar, The Answer, Hideaway (solo).
