Top class, go-any-where product!
I am writing this review a year later to make sure nothing went wrong. So far, I am very pleased with the iPad. The battery life is good; the WiFi and 3G work well. I did not update iOS 4.2.1 so the iPad works beautifully smoothly and quickly. From what I gather, updating the OS can make it run slower so don't do it!
I bought the iPad mainly for work. The iPad had no defects - no scratches, etc., looked brand new. The product arrived early and nicely packaged.

Easy to use for my 80-year-old mother
4 of 4 found this helpful I bought this for my 80-year-old mother. She was surprised to get it and seems to be enjoying it. It's easy to use. The sound is great. When she's reading, she can enlarge the screen. She likes the camera. She plays Solitaire and does crossword puzzles. it's fast. Memory storage is good for her use.
Overall, a great tablet. But...I would give it a 4/5. In order to use Face Time, Skype, Messenger and other free apps, she would have to set up an Apple ID with credit card information and she didn't want to do that.
So, she won't be able to fully enjoy all the advantages of an iPad.
