As great as I remembered!
I first came across this book as a library page in the early 1990's. One of my counterparts mentioned how hilarious this book was, and it was! I think I read it every time it hit the "put away bin," which was often. Now that I have young children of my own some 30 (!) years later, this title popped into my head one night at bedtime, so I had to order 2. This book did not disappoint! The illustrations and text are vivid and wildly creative, and the author turns otherwise standard fairly tales into their own unique stories with unpredictable results. The effect is hilarious and fun.
Plus, who can resist smiling when saying the title story, "the Stinky Cheese Man?" I'm smiling as I write it!

What a sweet book!
This is a really sweet story about a formerly lonely family cat that any animal lover will understand and appreciate. The story also reinforces counting skills, but in a really creative way. The illustrations are poignant, and my young daughter and I really enjoyed this book.

My new favorite CD
This soundtrack is magnificent- the texture of each song, the variety of tempos and orchestral arrangements, and the emotion- are so moving and relaxing. Simon Brint was a real talent. Several songs, such as Julverset (a variation of a Norwegian lullaby), Moonlight, Justine's Farewell, Molly's Tune, and Archie's Tune, are unforgettable and so very lovely. My only wish is that the songs were longer! Still, this disc provides a relaxing and enjoyable respite, and successfully transports the listener to Glenbogle, or a highland paradise like it. If I can't travel to Scotland now, this is the next best thing! Highly recommend.
