Solid Axle Maisto Model of Amazing Chrysler ME412
Wimpy 'realistic' steering gear, that breaks as soon as a child 'drives' the toy on the rug, don't impress me, and this amazing 412 begs to be driven fast. Kudos to Maisto for using solid steel axles in the 412.
Only 2 412s were ever produced; Daimler was so embarrassed that this Chrysler mid engine, carbon fiber, aluminum honeycomb rocket, with a development time under a year, beat anything Mercedes-Benz German engineering came up with in 100 years, Daimler cancelled the project... and I've got a car carrier loaded with 4 models of them!
The ME412 (mid engine, 4 turbocharger, V12 supercar), with 850 bhp can go 2 mph shy of 250 mph, which would have made it the fasted car on the road in 2004!
Don't have a picture of it yet, the last 412 model just arrived; I'll edit this when I have a chance.

Great for Restoration or just to make a toy Usable again
I bought this to fix up a kludged together car carrier that had no fifth wheel. I was careful to not touch it with bare fingers while unpacking. I primed it so it won't rust (intended project is gone). I'll paint it after it is fitted to the next tractor we need it for.

Nice Carbon Black Finish. Red Plastic Wheels; Meh.
Solid steel axles are nice. Low profile tires give harsh ride, but kids can't drive them off easily (that's the entertaining part. I give children car carriers to drive models onto... but they still like to zoom them around on the rug. (Didn't take pictures since I got this one... but the attached one gives you an idea.)
