Canon Macros 180mm F/3.5L Lens
3 of 5 found this helpful I am an above average photographer- not a pro mind you. I own a Canon 100mml macro and a 100mm Zeiss macro in addition to the one I just bought.
The Canon 180mm L is super sharp and allows me more working distance from my subjects making it easier to adjust the lighting the way I want it. In my opinion the images are crisper and the color rendition is better than with the Canon 100mm macro that I own.
The lens is heavy, but I use it on a tripod so it doesn't affect what I do. If I were to carry the lens on my camera it would not be comfortable. I imagine that most users would want to use this lens on a tripod set up for added stability.
I would definitely buy this lens again. I use it on my Canon 7d and 5d III.
