    TP-Link TL-SF1005D 5-Port 10/100 Mbps Desktop Ethernet Switch
    Oct 11, 2020
Would I recommend this Ethernet switch and this brand in general? Definitely.
Since I have been working from home as part of the Covid-19 pandemic response, I have been using my work lap-top and a separate screen in addition to my home computer. I run both from the same Ethernet cable, but quickly grew tired of physically switching the cable between the two. There are also times when I want both to be on at the same time. Unaware that it wouldn't solve my problem, I tried a couple of cheap cable splitters before buying this Ethernet switch. Although the splitters allow both devices to be plugged in, only one can work at a time which didn't help much. However, buying this Ethernet switch has solved my problem completely. I can now have both devices running simultaneously, with no dip in performance at all, and there is still room for three more devices if I need it. It comes on each time I power up, and it just works. There was no setting up required, other than plugging the cables in and plugging it into the power supply, and for the money, I can't fault it. I'm no expert, and I don't need the levels of performance that gamers do, but as far as I can see, if you have a need to run more than one device off one Ethernet cable, then this is the device for you. I bought another TP-Link device recently and that has been perfect too, so from my experience of the company, I would recommend them and their products to anyone. The items all seem easy to set up, and they just work (and work very well).
