Throw away the stick
These struts are low cost and easy to replace. Be safe and throw away the stick propping up your hood.

Long Lasting in Sandy Conditions.
I was looking for blades with good blade life and these perform well. We cut about 6 acres each time we mow and after three mowings the blades have a good edge. We have sandy soil that is hard on mower blades and these hold an edge better than high lift blades we have used. Why not 5 stars? My wife says that she is not able to mow as fast with these blades because they do not lift and cut the grass as well. It takes her longer to mow with these blades. If you want long lasting blades in sandy conditions, these are for you, if you do not mind mowing a little slower.
