Songcatcher
3 of 3 found this helpful I really enjoy the particular genre of music which is featured in The Songcatcher. I was raised on it, as my father was also a fan of old time folk music. I learned to enjoy the unique sound as a child and continue to enjoy it to this very day.
Also, this film depicts the use of the Edison cylinder recording device and phonograph, one of which I happen to own via inheritance. This too has piqued my interest in this film. But only as an aside from my overall main interest.
I think the film is well made and features the work of some very fine actors and singers. The quality of the music as presented is also remarkable. The story itself is enlightening and entertaining. I enjoy this film and find it to be one of a very few that I can watch several times a year.
