Strut does not work like OEM strut in cold temperatures

Strut gas cartridge is small diameter than OEM Toyota strut. Cold temperatures, gas cartridge will not lift hatch tailgate. At 15°F, the strut will not hold tailgate open at 1/2 position (hatch will drop). It will hold hatch open if you lift the hatch to the full open position.....anything in between, it will drop hatch. Don't know how this strut will perform at even colder temps. It may not hold hatch open at all. Don't expect this strut to work in cold weather like the OEM unit. They are however, cheaper than OEM, but you get what you pay for.
