Worked beautifully...for about ten minutes.
First and most importantly: RCA informs me that this model has been replaced by the TVPRAMP12E. Notice the difference
TVPRAMP1E - old
TVPRAMP12E - new
But in my case that didn't make a difference...
The TVPRAMP1E was relatively easy to install. You'll need a short coax from the antenna "matching transformer" to the pre-amp. Make sure to plug the antenna coax into the VHF/UHF input (unless you have separate VHF and UHF antennas).
Hardware for mounting the pre-amp on the antenna pole is provided and does the job.
Then just plug in the power supply at the TV end of things. Pretty much impossible to do it wrong...
The pre-amp worked beautifully. I received several channels that previously I had not received, including one particular channel that I need for an income-earning web site.
It worked for approximately ten minutes.
After ten minutes, my "golden channel" was no longer visible, signal strength practically identical to the situation before installing the pre-amp.
Reading online, I learned that if the power supply was putting out 9V at the coax connector then it was "shot". Sure enough: 9 V at the coax connector.
I tried to repair, I failed, and of course voided the warranty in my attempt.
I ordered ANOTHER new pre-amp, this time, after contacting RCA, the newer 12E model.
It also worked beautifully...for about 20 minutes.
Twice as long
but (obviously) not a useful lifespan.
Reviews online say that this is THE best pre-amp on the market...IF you get one that works.
I'm going through the RCA warranty process now.

Correct item, new-in-box, shipped relatively quickly.
Have an early 70's BSA. This fit perfectly.

Surprised - performs better than expected. Great way to get rid of that pile of change!
I have a bunch of change that I've collected because it's such a chore, sometimes, rooting through one's pockets for exact change.
I had to choose between two pocket coin dispensers.
The other (deluxe, US-made) model (The Chawley Changer) only holds enough coins for one transaction.
I wanted a dispenser that would hold 99 cents TWICE (because I often perform two transactions when shopping because I shop for someone else in addition to myself).
This CoinBoy (Brazilian-made) holds that much and more.
When I received it I practiced with it and had the impression that it would be difficult to get the coins out when I needed it
but
in real world (at the self-service checkout, with a line of people waiting impatiently behind you) it turns out that the coins can be teased out relatively easily, with little effort and time, just by "rubbing" the coin with your thumb or forefinger in the proper direction.
I was surprised and pleased at the performance in a "real" situation, and continue to be.
The performance is NOT perfect (not what one would imagine for a perfect dispenser)
but it is definitely easy enough that it impressed me rather than disappointing me.
Of course the price is great.
The unit is made of seemingly sturdy plastic. I do NOT know how long it will last, especially if it is dropped repeatedly from a height, and I do not know how long the springs will last, but my guess is that under normal circumstances I it will last for at least a year or two with regular (5 times per week or more) use.
