Think twice
0 of 1 found this helpful I bought these to remove a rounded 14mm bolt on the car.
I tapped the 14mm socket on and levered down. I thought the bolt was moving then off came the socket. I tried again but with the same result and afterwards the socket would no longer bite at all.
I had to go down to the 13mm socket next to get some grip. I repeated the procedure, got a good bite then off it came. I kept trying until I no longer had any grip.
The bolt head was totally round now but when I looked at the sockets they had the spiral in them virtually smoothed out. they are as soft as the bolt! In addition I noticed that the fluted spiral area isn't true in the centre of the socket itself so another weakness exists there.
I contacted the seller regarding a warranty and, as I anticipated, no reply of any form resulted; once you've paid........
My opinion of them is they are made of an excessively soft material and I am going to see if I can file or hacksaw them to confirm this for myself.
I can't speak from experience but I would expect Irwin to be of better quality and have a warranty back up which these don't appear to do so. I would have bought Irwin had I known.
These, I suspect, may be of use to anyone who does a lot of Meccano building and has the very occasional slightly tight bolt.
This example of Bergen quality tools has been enough of an education to never conider any of their products again. I have had better tools from the pound Shop in the past and that is no joke!
The other reviews recommending these can't have had that tight a bolt to begin with I suspect as I'm positive they're useless for their intended purpose.

Moves the Gunge
Certainly got some dirt and rubbish out of my power steering system. Smells very nice too.
