Good lens for the price
1 of 1 found this helpful As a much cheaper alternative for the huge 300/2.8, this is a great lens. Cheaper and lighter than the 70-200/2.8, this lens gives you an excellent combination of the reach of 300mm, relatively large aperture at f/4, and great portability. Image quality is great, auto focus is fast, and the built-in lens hood is really convenient. The only downside is that if you are shooting videos, the noise from auto focus and image stabilization system can be a problem. After all, this lens is designed almost two decades ago, and I really hope Canon would come up with an update.
