Worth the price. Especially if you have pets!!
I have always been skeptical about vacuum cleaners that cost several hundred dollars, but I guess you get what you pay for. We have tried the name brands from department stores and even a reconditioned Oreck, but the Dyson tops them all in price and performance.
Most impressive is the amount of pet hair and dust it lifts out of carpeting. It is almost disgusting what you see what your prior vacuum was leaving behind. You can immediately feel the more intensive suction power pulling the vacuum head into the carpet.
Quick pro's:
- Powerful, as advertised.
- Hand tool attachment has rotating brush, which is good for lifting pet hair off carpeted stairs.
- 5-yr mfr warranty, so that helps justify the higher cost.
- Air flow is not through a bag, so you do not have the smell of dust and pet hair discharging into the room. The HEPA filter seems to keep that under control.
- Noise level is less than our Hoover or Oreck, which was surprising considering the power.
Minor Negatives:
- Unit is still on the heavy side, but bearable.
- It would have been nice if this had the 'ball technology' for ease of movement (found in the DC25). I opted for more power and performance over ease.
All in all a really solid, great performing unit. I do not think you will be dissapointed if you buy one. I checked other websites and this model was consistently getting 5/5 ratings!

Solid Choice for anyone looking to improve their game
4 of 4 found this helpful I don't get to play golf as much as I like, so I could not justify dropping big $$$$ on a new set. Buying a used set of high quality irons off of ebay was a better alternative. Taylor Made is renowned for its quality, so I figured it was a safe choice. My first game out with proved to me that better clubs do lower your score. I'm no expert on the technology of the various materials, styles, etc., but I do see that I am hitting the ball more cleanly, and more consistently. If you can pick up a set of Firesole irons in good shape, you won't be disappointed.
In the first couple weeks after purchasing them, I heard from the original owner. He tells me his new set of irons (which he paid 5x what he sold the Firesoles for) play no better than the Taylor Mades for.

Great toy for those who love gadgets
The 30GB Ipod was a replacement for my wife's identical unit which was stolen 2 weeks prior. Replacing it with a like unit was a no brainer, because she used the original daily.
I have to admit that I am not a gadget person, but its capabilities are impressive. From the amount of music and video it can hold, to the quality of the display, and the variety of podcasts which are available.
I know there are bigger capacity units available, but the 30GB unit is more than enough for most users. The only negative I have heard her mention relates to the accessories, not the unit itself. It seems to be tricky to find an adapter that provides good quality sound when playing through the car radio. Some have to be in "just the right" position to get a clear signal. She also found that some of the cheaper brand adapters worked better than the higher priced name brands (which were stolen as well).
If you buy this for your spouse - be prepared to be ignored (more than usual). You will find yourself talking to them, and realize they have the earbuds in and they are oblivious to your presence. Not always a bad thing.
If you really like your toys, I am sure this will not dissapoint.
