The show holds up beautifully decades after it was first televised
1 of 1 found this helpful A well-written and acted series that is most addictive from the 1970s. It's a character study, and focuses on the changes happening during the early 1900s. Most every episode concentrates on issues during the Edwardian area. ... The pacing may be different than those familiar with Downton Abbey; and it is filmed in a way that may seem a bit more like watching a live drama. But that breadth and depth of the acting and the writing may be its enduring charm.
