Some features need changing

Some features cannot be altered such as the screen out time which makes the short period difficult for old folk who do not readily understand that you need to press a button to get it back and then carry on using it. The elderly relative I bought it for has given up as her arthritic hands makes her slow and the screen blackout confuses her so she has a care home staff member dial for her. The simple select buttons on the top left and right should be larger and more self explanatory as well. She had to be shown exactly where the speaker was so that she could hold it directly in her ear as her hearing is not that good. I had to explain that it was more important for her to get the earphone position right and the microphone position was less important as it will pick up her speech anyway. The speed dial menu also confuses this elderly relative and the handset is small for arthritic hands. A simpler function such as press a "speed dial devoted and labelled button" and then the speed dial number would have been easier to explain. A bigger casing with "grip friendly" rubber would have helped. Again I think the phone was designed by an able person who has not had much experience with the elderly Would not buy again
