3ah battery

This is a slimline battery half the size of the old makita 3 AH batteries. I have reverted to the 3 rather than the 5 or 6AH because I find them more reliable. This thinner battery allows me to get a drill or impact driver into more restricted spaces which has to be a good thing. Only one problem. My impact driver has a belt clip which generally sits at the side of the larger batteries but hangs an inch below this thinner one which means you can’t place the driver upright on the workbench.

Lovely quiet pump

I selected this pump for my small garden pond 7x8 ft and 2.5 ft deep. It does more than enough on minimum setting. It works away amazingly quietly. It is a 4W mains pump. It has good build quality and comes with two air stones and sufficient tubing to feed it to each end of my pond from the centre. The pump body sits at the side of the pond. The air stones are not weighted and will float if left but weighing them down is easy enough. I use an air pump to ensure water quality in what is essentially a wildlife pond but so much air is driven through, fish would have no problem at all. I was surprised at the quality of this pump at the price. It comes with two one way valves which is handy if the pump body is below water level for any reason (If the pond is raised). But don't get them the wrong way round as I did at first! Altogether highly recommended.

Good belts

This is a good product at the right price. The belts are strong, well bonded and long lasting. I went for 60 grit. I will be ordering 100s now too.
