Revealing SACD mix of Gene Clark's iconic album - like hearing it for the first time.
1 of 1 found this helpful White Light marks my second SACD purchase from Intervention Records, but it won't be the last. My first purchase was The Flying Burrito Brothers - Gilded Palace of Sin. It blew me away, and prompted me to scan their catalog for other releases. White Light isn't my favorite Gene Clark album, that would be No Other or Two Sides to Every Story. However, it is a beautiful acoustic album that lends itself to an analog remix.
Like everyone else, I read advertising hyperbole and dismiss it - "Mastered under a lunar eclipse by an engineer standing on one leg, using only his left hand". Well, I do believe Kevin Gray at CoHEARent Audio is actually going back to the original tapes and mixing in analog (and that it makes a profound difference). The sound is detailed, and wow is it smooth. For turntable folks, we're talking an all analog signal path from mixing studio to your needle.
PRO
1) Best sounding mix of this album ever, and I have all domestic/import reissues on cd and lp.
2) Even if you don't have SACD playback ability, the regular cd sounds significantly better. Note, the regular cd playback sounds noticeably improved on a vintage Sansui QRX6001 quadraphonic receiver. That's right, you can hear the difference on a 45 year old un-restored receiver.
CON
1) I prefer multichannel mixes. However, like everyone else I have a receiver or preamp that can accomplish this.
2) Kevin Gray please work your magic on No Other and Two Sides to Every Story. I promise not to tell anyone if you mix it under a lunar eclipse, standing on one leg, just using your left hand.

Great price, fast ship
I needed a bacon press, and the clear glass route, seemed the way to go. This allows you see the bacon, to avoid burning it. The egg rings, or hash-brown rings, were a bonus at this price point.

Best colorized Stooges available
Just another low dollar transaction that turned out to be something completely different. My previous two colorized Stooges DVD's, had a pastel washed out look. Not so this one. The image is sharp, the color vivid. The black and white image looked great too. For comparison, I watched the DVD up sampled via 4K UHD player to a large OLED.
1) Stunning colorized or B/W image
2) Good selection of Stooges shorts
a) In the first short, Stooges as filling station attendants, destroy what I believe to be a 1929 Packard Custom Eight Phaeton. All the motor vehicles in this episode look awesome.
b) Includes the short "You Nazty Spy", a hilarious send up of Fascism.
