This was the proper part for the job which is very specific to the Thule Big Mouth bike rack and certain Thule or VW cross bars.

Quality product
This handlebar is well made with a nice finish. The shape looks more purpose-built than some of the single piece swept back handlebars (think "industrial"). The angle does help reduce my particular wrist/hand problems. I use it on a flat-bar gravel bike rather than a XC mountain bike so I can't say how this shape will work with more aggressive riding styles.

If the appropriate Giro shoe has life, these are worth the price.
The pads fit exactly as the original ones did but you do need to pick the right size. Wow, what a difference from the worn out first set and now the shoes do not rock side to side on the pedals. These will likely give the cycling shoes a couple of more years of use.
