Made of brittle plastic.
Replaced an 10 year old Grand brita pitcher with this one and the quality of this new brita pitcher is worse than garbage. It arrived shattered into a dozen pieces. It has been greatly cheapened compared to the "vintage" brita pitchers. So cheap, I even wondered if it was counterfeited. It wasn't, just the new, terrible cost savings quality. I ended up replacing the new brita that arrived shattered with a 10 year old open box grand pitcher. If you can find an older model, even used, I would recommend that before purchasing this new, cheap crap.
