il Postino
I love this movie. I had to buy it to watch more often. It has the option of English and Korean subtitles as this particular DVD came from Korea. I played it right away as I know some players from other countries are different than those in the US, but it played fine. No problems.
Il Postino is about a common man who enlists the help of a renowned poet to help him express himself to the woman he loves. The man, a reluctant Neruda, is a controversial figure due to his political views, which the postman happens to share and soon the two form a bond of friendship.
It is a story of love and friendship.

Translation
I believe it to be a good story and perhaps well written but the translation leaves a great deal to be desired. The above comments as to whether I recommend or see it as a good value is difficult to say. I'm understanding the story but I am struggling with the translated text. I'm sure in it's original, it would read much smoother. I'm afraid if you are an English reader, you would find it difficult to enjoy. The story itself is compelling and I'm having to visualize what the author is truly saying.
