Could be good but needs work
5 of 5 found this helpful Wanted a stove for my wall tent and couldn't afford the big price tag of the others. Made this one work but had to spend more money and do some welding.
The Good:
*Fits a fair amount of standard 16" firewood for a little stove.
*Lightweight and compact.
*inexpensive.
*Useable if fixed up
The Bad
*Door only has one small weld and broke right off.
*Pipe is NOT standard size!
*Bottom clean out and back vent are so loose and warped that embers fall out.
*Leg sleeves on stove bend very easy
*Paint burns off give off bad fumes
I welded the back vent and bottom clean out shut. Makes the stove more air tight and embers no longer fall out.
I welded the door back on with more than just a tack and now it seems to work pretty good for just a stamped piece of sheet metal.
I needed an elbow and more pipe for my application and ended up having to replace the entire pipe with standard 3". I think this is what gets me the most as I had to spend almost as much on new pipe as I did the stove. There is a 2 3/4 exhaust but it's an odd size and cost $45 for one elbow.
I wouldn't recommend this for anyone who's going to use it in a tent unless they have access to a welder. I think it's fine for an outside stove to get warm by. It's thin so it's not going to last long but it's not very much money either.

Can be made to work.
Castings are not square but can be shimmed. Some parts don't fit but can be made to fit. Nuts on adjustment bars are not long enough to get a socket on so you have to use a wrench. Expect to have some tinkering to do but good for the money.

Don't follow torque spec on package!
I think these are pretty good rings for the money but rated them three stars as I followed the torque spec of 65 inch pounds for the base screw. Snapped it right off. Looking online lot's of others had similar experience trying to use that spec. Ordered another ring and set to 35 inch pounds. Working great now.
