Best APC Vest Design Ever!!!
1 of 1 found this helpful NcStar has designed the best armor plate carrier via this one... This destroys 100$ Condor Defender, especially for half the price, that I gave away... I love that there's no cummerbund and only uses single 2" web strap on sides with QR buckle, which allows me to utilize various paddle belt holsters connected to side strap... Since coming across this armor carrier from NcStar Vism, I gave away all drop - leg holsters and never use them again... I have a low - ride paddle belt holster attached to right side strap and perfect placement for me... This armor carrier is packed with many features... I really like the external plate pockets with both zipper and velcro closure for easier plate access and swapping... It also has tabs sewn on outside exterior of mesh towards top for attaching Interceptor OTV or MTV style collar attachments, and more tabs sewn on exterior of mesh down at bottom for groin flap attachments for extra armor capacity... There is enough (P.A.L.S) webbing via front + rear panels of carrier for (M.O.L.L.E) critical pouch attachments and nothing more... There is Velcro for attaching patches onto top front and rear exterior of plate compartments... This APC vest has potential to become a "Juggerknaut" setup for full upper body protection via addition of ballistic groin, collar, and upper arm protection... The quality and craftsmanship is very good and considering 30$ - 50$ price range is even remarkable... However, there's a quality fault in stitching that could be reinforced and improved upon... The only area, so far, that I have experienced stitching problem is on one of two that I own as stitching over one of the frontal side web loopings that secures quick - release buckle onto frame is unraveling and only wore it once... So far, otherwise, I've had no problems elsewhere... That being said, if NcStar took time and money to invest another 50$ into production added to retail price for better stitching quality in areas like aforementioned, plus some extra features like added rows of (P.A.L.S) webbing at front and rear top portions of the plate compartments over the Velcro etc., than this would make the ultimate killer armor carrier vest in 100$ range and still worthy to be better than Condor Defender... This 2XL+ armor plate carrier vest fits me perfect... I'm 5XL and extended the side straps to maximum length of adjustment, but purchased and added 2" nylon web utility / luggage straps of sizeable length as intermediary between the front side quick - release buckle(s) and the rear side integral latching strap(s) with addition of two triple - glide buckles and a single rectangular buckle securing the two straps together as one link on each left and right sides... I don't like cummerbunds at all, for various reasons, and is where always have size fitting problems, and so the single 2" strap on each side makes world of difference for fit and for full flexibility of unrestricted manveurability as well... The single 2" strap on each side also allows for creative modding and utilitarian attachment via many different extra (M.O.L.L.E) and (A.L.I.C.E) pouches or knife sheaths, pistol / duty belt holsters etc., and so on... I really like the wide open feel of only having single 2" strap... With my size, there is about 4" center gap spacing on sides for full breathability of heat dissipation and flexibile maneuvering of my arms without cummerbund + pouches jammed under armpit... I don't care about side armor protection as I prefer to be less side restrictive... The front and back body is most critical to protect, and the front and back main sleeve panels covers / protects my chest + back perfectly while covering significant portion of my front and rear angular side regions as well... I like very much also that I can use both soft armor and hard armor plates in it, either together or individually over the other... I have Large size (BALCS - SPEAR) soft armor in one of two vests, but XL size (BALCS - SPEAR) soft armor is better suited for the 2XL+ vest while Large (BALCS - SPEAR) for Medium - 2XL vest... I still need to get armor plates, but for now I'm using soft armor... The only real negative for me is that there's no extra strips of (P.A.L.S) webbing sewn across exterior top of rear plate compartment as the webbing only covers lower half of the back, and so when you attach a longer (M.O.L.L.E) hydration pack then half of it hangs down low off vest under your buttox... Thus it needs several additional (P.A.L.S) webbing strips across exterior top of rear plate compartment... Otherwise this APC vest by NcStar Vism is best ever in design + features, albeit could have better quality in areas... For 30$ - 50$ range, this armor carrier is premõ, in my conclusion... I own two, both in black, one setup for future rifle rig and other setup for my current "shotgunner" loadout... I also did some hybrid modding enhancements.
Overall, I definitely recommend this!!!
