Mini UV Ultra Violet LED Flashlight 395nm for ID & Passport Authentication
    Apr 10, 2018
best UV light for the price
Wow, I'm impressed with this UV flashlight, especially for the price. I like it so much that I just bought two more! It produces more light in the actual UV spectrum than any other longwave UV light I've tried, and I have about five of them (including more expensive models and another little black UV light that looks idential to this one but has inferior LEDs). Flourescent minerals glow brightly in this light. I've attached some photos of minerals illuminated by this UV light, along with photos of the same minerals in ordinary light for comparison. As you can see, this flashlight puts out plenty of longwave UV to make some minerals fluoresce noticeably.

    Premium Quantitative Spectroscope

    not bad for the price
For the price, this is a good product. The slit is a little too wide, resulting in spectral lines that are poorly defined, but that problem can be fixed without too much effort: just make the slit narrower by attaching some thin, opaque material (maybe aluminum foil) to either side of the slit. The narrower the slit, the more sharply defined the spectral lines will be. I've attached a photo (taken with my cell phone looking through this spectroscope) of the spectral emission lines from a compact fluorescent lamp (CFL).

I'm impressed with the quality of this collimating eyepiece, especially for the price. It's easy to use and feels well-made.
