Mitford Cookbook & Kitchen Reader
1 of 1 found this helpful If you have read and enjoyed Jan Karon's books you will love her cookbook - not only are the recipes inviting, warm and easy to make, but the excerpts from her novels that go along with the recipes are great - just the right touch - makes me want to go back and read her books over again - and sincerely wish she would get back to her writing desk - JAN - WE WANT MORE!

The Classroom Teacher's Survival Guild
I bought this book for my son who teaches 5th grade in the Los Angeles Unified School District - when he was home on spring break he said he keeps it in his desk at school, has used a lot of the ideas and likes it a lot - and he said, surviving is the word to use at his school in L.A. (they also have the problem of their jobs being eliminated because of California's lack of funds)

The Cat Who Dropped A Bombshell
I always buy Lilian Braun's books on eBay as soon as they appear after publication. They're not as good as they used to be, not as well written, not as exciting and recently have noticed that not all the loose ends are tied up nor all the questions answered in the last chapter. But it's still fun to read a new adventure about Qwilleran and his crazy cats up in the northlands. I envy the folks their small-town atmosphere, being able to tap the K-Fund for their city improvements and enjoy imagining what it would be like to live in a huge, old apple barn - architecturally renovated to current standards, of course. The Cat Who books are comforting, familiar and different. And at one time or another all of the series is available on eBay!
