    Yamaha FJ1200 1991 - 1999 YSS Shock Absorber MZ456-300TR-29
    Jun 23, 2020
    Good value for the money.
This shock is the cheapest new shock I could find for my FJ1200. Normally, I am wary of cheap parts, but this seems to be a really good deal. The way my ride improved is hard to describe. It's like getting a new bike. The absolute best thing I bought for it. Granted, I am comparing it to a 27 year old shock that wasn't great new, but still. It looks to be well made, the finish is nice. Fit into place with no issues whatsoever. Took me probably around a half hour to install. I can't speak to the longevity, as I've only had it about a month, but so far I am very pleased with YSS.

    Good quality tube
This is a thick wall aluminum tube. It is matte finished and doesn't have a visible seam. I used it to make spring spacers for motorcycle forks. It is perfect in that application.

    Fun rebirth of a classic
There are basically two reasons I bought the Wii version of Punch-Out. One is that it is a fun cartoony game that is very close to the original one and the other is that it allows control using both the remotes and the balancing board. There are three modes of control. The remote alone lets you play like the original Nintendo using buttons. Remote with nunchuk connected lets you punch with your hands, but requires the use of the joystick to duck and dodge. Adding the balance board to this setup lets you duck and dodge for real with your whole body. The first two control modes allow for two players, while the balance board is for single-player only. In single-player there is a practice mode and a career mode that pits you against a succession of opponents. The controls are simple, but playing this game can be a fair workout if you use the combined balance board and nunchuk. The number one thing I like about this game are the corny graphics and intros. The graphics are, of course, less pixellated, but still goofy cartoons. The rocking 80's soundtrack is very fitting. There are a couple of minor downsides. One is that the controls lack nuance - ducking and dodging is an on-off kinda deal instead of a smooth movement. Also, connecting the balance board sometimes takes going through an extra set of menus. Still, this is not enough to seriously take away from the fun. All in all, this is another Wii game that you can just play without having to memorize a multipage manual. What it lacks in complexity it makes up in old-school charm and just plain fun.
