Works great on stainless steel threaded joints
Nothing I've found works as well as Bostik's Never-Seez Regular Grade preventing seize-ups and galling of stainless steel fastener threads. It works great as a pipe dope for stainless steel pipe joints, much more leak suppressing than nickel-impregnated Teflon tape while still completely preventing thread galling..

Not an NV241HD ordinary shaft seal
This Mopar rear extension housing shaft seal for the NV241HD and NP241DHD is a radical redesign of the seal that came with my 1998 Dodge Ram 2500 4x4's optional HD transfer case. The original seal slowly wept ATF onto the street almost from the day I brought it home, aftermarket replacement seals performed no better.
The 5086054AA OEM seal (the latest in a series of superseding P/Ns) is a completely different design that "gives" easily as the U-joint yoke moves in and out depending on bed loading and road conditions. When the yoke move inward with the old-style seal, to whole seal body distorts somewhat allowing ATF to get past the double lips. The new seal design acts like a bellows, easily absorbing the inward movement of the yoke without distorting. Interestingly, the new seal design also came precision prepacked with ruby red grease all around the double lip inner sealing structure.
