Windows 7 professional clean installation

I had no problems with installing windows 7 professional it was a clean install on a new hard drive, The only problem was that I had no internet connection and had to go to the Dell support and download the driver for the windows 7 professional 64 bit. I had to use a different pc and downloaded the driver on a usb memory stick and then download to the pc with windows 7. Important when you use the Dell download service you must enter the pc model (Dell XPS 8500 in my case) to get the right driver for the pc model you are using, it has to do with the chip sets that are installed on the mother board of the pc. The Dell website does not make it easy for finding the right driver and I think the reason being that the Dell PC XPS 8500 had windows 8 originally installed on it. If you face this problem look closely for the small blue print that says different operating system to obtain the right driver.. I didn't want to reinstall Windows 8 which was a bust for Microsoft. Windows 7 will no longer be supported by Microsoft by 2020 so I took advantage of the free upgrade to Windows 10 but also did all of the custom turn-offs ( google it for a list of turn-offs) that improves your privacy and makes Windows 10 less of a spyware software. --- John ----
