Nintendo Switch HAC-001(-01) 32GB Console with Gray Joy‑Con - Original Box
Nov 22, 2023
The rare time early models are better
The Nintendo Switch may be at the end of its life, but it's still a good thing to pick up, especially since your games are tied to an account, not a system (whether you buy digital or physical). As many in the homebrew community know, unpatched Switches are the nuggets, as all Switches since then, not to mention what will succeed them, are unhackable without hardware modification. And the primary base of homebrewers tend to be tightwads.
I recommend picking up an unpatched Switch not just for the possibility of homebrew (haven't done it myself, but I at least have the option), but for recycling in the future online. One may say, "but there are millions of them, what makes you think they'd be worth more?" Yeah? Look at the prices for Pokemon Heartgold and Soulsilver!
And remember, "unpatched" has nothing to do with software. Just check your serial number by looking up "is my Switch patched?" to find out if you're a lucky owner.
Wacom Intuos Pro Large Graphic Drawing Tablet, UPTH860, Certified Refurbished

My preferred way to draw digitally
The Intuos Pro Large is possibly the largest non-display pen tablet on the market. It's enjoyable to have such a large space to draw on and not worry about how much room there is.
Prior to this, I had one of Wacom's display tablets that was 13.3 inches, which is smaller than it seems. The UI elements of drawing software take up most of it, leaving very little to draw on. But even using a focus mode, I was wanting for space. The other disadvantages of a display are constantly looking down, texture always being on the smooth side, more difficulty accessing a keyboard, etc. And if you want a BIG display, it will be expensive and bulky.
Ever since I got the Intuos Pro, I actually draw more. Everyone says there is this awkward transition period to have to look up at your monitor to draw. Given I drew with a computer mouse for years, I suppose I am immune to this phenomenon. Dare I say, it's actually easier to draw, because my hand or the stylus is not blocking the view!
The Intuos Pro's only real flaw is a shorter than anticipated battery life when using Bluetooth, but I choose to just use it wired. Don't get me wrong, the battery life is plenty! I just feel like it should go weeks without a charge as opposed to days.
Wacom Intuos Pro Large Graphics Tablet, New

Why I Prefer This Over a Screen
With a 32" monitor, large was the only option that made sense. While this is an expensive product, I find it preferable over a screen tablet for many reasons.
-A screen tablet needs to be very big to be useful. Wacom offers smaller, cheaper displays, but what software doesn't have a user interface that will take up a good chunk of the screen? A 13 inch tablet isn't going to cut it. You basically have to spend over $1k on a display tablet for it to be worth your while.
-Screen tablets take up a lot of room. I used one that had 3 cables to plug in every time, but that's not the worst of it. It's not going to be on the desk at all times, so storing it's a pain, pulling it out is a pain, and setting it up on the desk is a pain, taking up the entire desk.
-Posture is terrible when drawing on a screen display, leading to discomfort.
I much prefer this Intuos, because it takes up way less room, easily fits in my drawer, and lets me comfortably look up at my big computer monitor.
Customization is pretty good for my purposes. I can completely disable the buttons within the software (I never use them, so this is what I do). It's very easy to turn off the touch features as well, but if you keep them on, you can use the tablet as a massive trackpad. I find the included Pro Pen 2 to be too chunky, but they have a Pro Pen Slim that solved my issues there.
Wacom is the biggest brand for a reason, and even recently there was a driver update. They take care of their products even 7 years later.
