Heavy Duty and Light weight
1 of 1 found this helpful If you have pro equipment with big lenses - like the 300mm 2.8, or 70-200, with pro bodies like the D810 and larger, this is a terrific piece of equipment. It is not, however, my only tripod. I have the smaller 190 and smaller head as well for travel, but this is so far and above better than the aluminum version it's ridiculous. The 3-piece makes it easier to open and close, and the added heft of the bigger 055 legs and construction seems to work so much more smoothly than the smaller versions. It took me a couple years to convince myself to spend this kind of extra money, but it's totally worth it. Don't go cheap on something like this. Get the good one and be done with it. I'm glad I did.

Exquisite, powerful, precise
I have had the amazing 300mm f2.8 VRII for two years, and this lens for me is even more useful so far. I have always preferred fixed lenses, even though I own the 24-70 and 70-200, I will use others if I can.
