Does what it says, but...
Item arrived quickly, and as described. Very small and easy to use and carry.
I would have given it 5 stars, except after testing it with a large number of various transmitting devices I've found that, even with the antenna fully extended, maximum range for detection is about 3-6 inches (7-15 cm), depending on the device. I couldn't find any device that would trigger a signal on this unit past approximately 6 inches.
The instructions that come with it say it can detect signals from 1-10 meters, but that doesn't seem to be the case. At least with the unit I received.
The unit was inexpensive, so I didn't expect a lot, which is why I gave it a 3 star rating. It was cheap, and it does work. Just wish it had at least a 3 foot (1 meter) range.

Perfect for the purpose...
I purchased this to place by a gravesite, and it's perfect. Some people mention that the cross only has one LED at the bottom, and it doesn't light the entire cross, but it seems to work very well. At night, I can see the light from 1/2 mile away. If you live in a windy area, make sure you push the stake at least 6 inches into the ground for support.
This would work well in any setting, but it's especially nice to place by a loved one if your cemetery allows it. Definitely recommend it...

Great scanner at a great price...
This scanner has more features than my old scanner, and at a great price. Also provides more on-screen information that my old scanner, which is really nice.
Definitely recommend it...
